We were delighted that Clare joined the Hope Corner team as the new Seniors Outreach Coordinator in July 2024
Clare has settled into her role and has met most of the seniors we support in the Underhill / High Barnet area, arranging home visits and events for them to attend.
In October 2024, seniors gathered for a ‘Trip down Memory Lane’ where Alan Last, one of their number, talked about and showed pictures of historic Barnet. Clare organised a one-stop tech shop in November 2024, where volunteers helped seniors with mobile phone, tablet and computer issues.
In December 2024, Billy Phillips, from Healthwise Better Balance, gave a demonstration on how to strengthen leg muscles to prevent falls. And the Hope corner team hosted a Christmas lunch for more than 50 seniors.
In 2025 (from January to Easter), a Computer & Internet Basics course was launched for tech beginners aged 55 plus.
