Although the centre has been forced to close under the new Tier 4 restrictions, a special one-off event called Christmas Lunch in the Community was launched this week in partnership with The Open Door Centre.

During Christmas week (from December 21-23),

100 individuals who are either isolating due to ill-health, poor mobility, age and shielding requirements or who have been affected by the pandemic will be receiving a Christmas lunch, delivered by staff and volunteers from the two community centres.

In addition, festive

Christmas extras – crackers, angels, mince pies – were included in the lunch boxes

provisions donated by other organisations to those most in need will also be distributed.

This event has been funded by a donation received from Countryside Properties, who also sponsored the Lunch in the Community project earlier in the year.

In addition, we have received another donation from Houlihan & Co, a contractor on the Dollis Valley redevelopment, so will be able to continue the lunches in the New Year during the Tier 4 restrictions.
