Although the centre has been forced to close under the new Tier 4 restrictions, a special one-off event called Christmas Lunch in the Community was launched this week in partnership with The Open Door Centre.
During Christmas week (from December 21-23),
100 individuals who are either isolating due to ill-health, poor mobility, age and shielding requirements or who have been affected by the pandemic will be receiving a Christmas lunch, delivered by staff and volunteers from the two community centres.
In addition, festive
provisions donated by other organisations to those most in need will also be distributed.
This event has been funded by a donation received from Countryside Properties, who also sponsored the Lunch in the Community project earlier in the year.
In addition, we have received another donation from Houlihan & Co, a contractor on the Dollis Valley redevelopment, so will be able to continue the lunches in the New Year during the Tier 4 restrictions.
